We do not know about your likes but us, we love it. And our “case” is not isolated. It is much, much love Panerai, and some like very strong. It is the Paneristi that has changed our taste and we simply love it now more than any other thing. You’ll see by reading the Radiomir that everyone can fall madly in love, their original forms are universal.

The day when this legendary watch was designed

The brand Panerai was designed in the middle of the nineteenth century in Italy and came at the time when small business was run by clockwork Giovanni Panerai. This trading has become not only a family affair, but also a store of spare parts. It contains accessories and tools for mechanical precision. With its expertise and its noble origins watch, Panerai was available with Vacheron Constantin, Longines, Patek Philippe, Rolex dealers which will be important in the development of some models of the brand.

You’ll understand, Panerai is a true watchmaker that is well established for years, probably what allowed it to win a very special contract with the Italian Navy. Indeed, in 1936, the Florentine company has, in the context of a top secret military project, a prototype of the watch Radiomir, this luminescent material patented by Panerai, which will then be replaced by tritium radium then Super Luminova, but has left its mark forever in the history of Panerai, giving its name to the flagship model. The Panerai Radiomir watch is characterized by its famous cushion shape and sealing particularly high due to his crown conical crown and the screw back.Panerai Radiomir

Two years later, we go from prototype to production, with the program a box of 47 mm a Rolex caliber, a Plexiglas glass, screw back, and of course the famous Radiomir, luminescent varnish which then provides the best possible visibility dials, even in extreme conditions. In this first edition, the hours were marked by Roman numerals 1, 2,10 and 11 hours and Arabic numerals at 4, 5.7 and 8 hours. In 1940, Panerai launched an improved version of the model case of the Radiomir 1936. The horns are shaped in the same block of steel as the case, making them much more robust. Other minor changes have transformed permanently the Radiomir case, heralding the advent of the Luminor case, which will come a few years later.

In 1956, the Egyptian Navy uses the Italian brand. The size of the box explodes, passing 60 mm. In addition to its military history, Panerai Radiomir has built a solid reputation thanks to new patents filed by the brand, and also the passion that some celebrities wear it.

Models of Panerai Radiomir

In 1995, actor Sylvester Stallone, a great lover is by example to deliver a special series Slytech, giving excellent visibility to the brand. And when it was redeemed in 1997 by the Richemont group, it still takes a new dimension.

The Richemont group known fact exploits the rich military history of Panerai, without distorting, and decides to leave reprints of these models, but also to create new limited edition, which will snag many amateurs. Just like the historic Radiomir that was produced with only 60 copies of platinum, with former Rolex movements, caliber 618 times, found by the brand. Needless to say that these models are stripped and sold today by auction houses in the € 100,000.Panerai Radiomir Black Panerai Radiomir
