This Year’s Cartier exhibition at Grand Palais, Paris


Cartier shows off her jew­els in an extra­or­di­nary ret­ro­spec­tive at the Salon Hon­neur of the Grand Palais in Paris.

Begin­ning from Decem­ber 4, 2013 to Feb­ru­ary 16, 2014, the opu­lent rooms of the Grand Palais in Paris will be the back­drop to a stun­ning dis­play on the uni­verse Cartier cel­e­brated in cul­tural per­spec­tive, to the place appointed under the dec­o­ra­tive arts.

The event is a trib­ute to the his­tory and style of the French fash­ion house, whose jew­els are admired in every cor­ner of the planet. It is not the first time that Cartier offers its magic at renowned insti­tu­tions, as con­firmed by the 25 exhibits on its col­lec­tions in all areas of the world. It ranges from the Met­ro­pol­i­tan Museum in New York at the British Museum in Lon­don, going to the Calouste Gul­benkian estab­lish­ment of Lis­bon, the Palace Museum of the For­bid­den City of Bei­jing and many other galleries.

The cre­ative her­itage exhib­ited at the Grand Palais in Paris offers a tes­ta­ment to style and crafts­man­ship with over 600 care­fully selected cre­ations, rang­ing from watches to jew­elry, to other pre­cious objects, some of which are on dis­play for the first time. To accom­pany a rich archive mate­r­ial and doc­u­men­tary, such an exhi­bi­tion offers a read­ing of magic in the con­text of social Cartier went on stage in its life cycle.
