The first sod was given by Jean-Claude Biver, who is the Chairman of Hublot watches and Chairman of the Division of LVMH, and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. The second large building will be more than double the size of its factory in Nyon.
This new unit, located right next to the first building will be mainly dedicated for the manufacturing of components, manufacturing movements and manufacturing the boxes of watches for packing. Thus, workshops of micromechanical information and entire presentation on fleet of CNC machines, decoration workshops, electroplating, mechanical engineering and washing workshops will be mentioned only. These will be settled with the after-sales service and part of the Directors in August 2015 in new walls.
The existing building will be reorganized at the same time, allowing the extension of the entire ground floor of Innovations Department, Research & Development, whose activity will mainly be focused on new materials and movements Grandes Complications. Though both the buildings will be working and performing their own tasks.
This will also allow departments ASF (Stitch Supplies), T1 (Stitch Movements), T2 / T3 (Stitch heads shows and watches) and Workshop Complications redeploy and grow to support the growth of Hublot. All these projects are an extraordinary efforts and team work of Hublot people and they have been working with combined efforts for this purpose.
Finally, the production unit Gland focused primarily on the manufacture of boxes and components made of carbon fiber, and crimping unit can reach the main site Nyon.
Ultimately, it is 8,000 square meters that are built with the help of architectural firm based in Nyon Coretra and more than 100 jobs that will be created by Hublot, bringing the total number of the company over 400 employees in Switzerland. It is also an investment of CHF 20 million incurred by the company in this project.
