Detail on Tudor Heritage Chrono watch Blue — Baselworld 2013

This is the magic of Basel: beautiful watches unveiled every day. On the other hand it is also difficult to make choices to present these wonders. As we return to the topic again for a few weeks; time to present you our favorite watch. But here is one, if I may say in the top 3 for a lot of reasons: the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue.

The beautiful Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue was designed so beautiful and so well; it will probably be an icon of the future. A big icon, as was his older Tudor Montecarlo chronograph, reference 7169, and a historic chronograph launched in 1973 and produced for only few years. Because of its great success this version remains highly sought by collectors.

So to revive this legendary model, Tudor brand has chosen to reinterpret in 2013, always with the “  spirit of resort chic and sophisticated 60s and 70s, and a marked emphasis Mediterranean warmth, glamour and carelessness  , “says Tudor in a statement. Difficult to say more: it identifies exactly the issues and the spirit of the watch.

If all the aesthetic codes that have contributed to the recognition of the historical model remains — synthesis of the original spirit of the piece and fidelity in the reproduction of key features — Workshop Style Tudor injected many modern touches to refresh the iconic spirit of the room and give it a timeless force.

As we saw with the latest Seamaster Planet Ocean Omega GMT, orange and blue colors are up to date, and absolutely modern. They give the watch, combined with a beautiful light gray, elk heat and roots both terrestrial and aquatic.

Tudor Heritage Chrono watch Blue

With a box of 42 mm against 40 mm for one of the time this new chrono features a mechanical chronograph movement with automatic winding of high quality, with a power reserve of 42 hours. The timepiece is water resistant to 150 meters.

The way bezel with hard blue anodized aluminum surrounds the dial is beautiful.

The dial features three-dimensional index o’clock coated with two metallic wedges defining a filled SuperLuminova for more force area and optimal readability. Both counters are enrolled in two trapezoidal shapes, with the counter at 3 o’clock with the small seconds at 9 o’clock and that is that of the 45 minutes, a counter that has marked the history of Tudor chronographs in the 70’s crown and pushers are characterized by a surface treatment knurled, chrome finish and the presence of a coat of blue paint put on the crown.

Beauty is delivered with two straps: one with steel folding clasp; and the other fabric reinforced with buckle. This fabric strap was developed by a house that perpetuates this artistic profession and takes the characteristic colors of the dial, in addition to offering exceptional comfort.

With the release of the watch Tudor Heritage Black Bay and the new Heritage Chrono, Tudor sees his side skyrocket and tipped the heart of many fans. A brand to watch closely; provided that it continues like this…
