In 1997, the Zenith put forward the idea of the Rainbow Flyback which was a watch rugged and has high-performance. It was capable of coping with the most tremendous situations. The brand with the star today is stimulated by this accurate instrument proposing a version sporting interest.
The new El Primero Rainbow was produced in a limited edition of 250 copies and will be available exclusively at the boutique Zenith. Inspired by the automatic caliber 405 B, with a column-wheel chronograph El Primero Stratos beats the exceptional frequency of 36,000 alternations per hour to an accuracy to the tenth of a second and has a date, telemeter scale and especially Flyback function, traditionally linked to the world of aviation. This function allows it to stop, reset and restart the chronograph with a single gesture, against the three pressures required in a normal chronograph. In TiAlum black, a special titanium alloy and aluminum lightweight yet very durable, the case has a diameter of 45.5 mm bezel with black disc scratch-protected aluminum. The domed sapphire crystal recalls the shape of the transparent dome at the rear of the fuselage necessary for celestial navigation. The transparent sapphire crystal case back engraved allows you to admire the fascinating mechanics of the El Primero caliber. On the dial, the minute counter at 3 o’clock is made of colors that provide reading even during the night hours in the cockpits illuminated infrared, just like the first model developed in collaboration with a fighter pilot, while the hour counter is positioned at 6 o’clock and small seconds hand at 9 o’clock. The indexes in Superluminova white stand out clearly against the black background of the dial and case, while the chronograph hand, which is also clearly visible, dressed in red. The tachymeter scale on the flange adds depth to the collection. Watch very aggressive; the El Primero Rainbow features a black rubber strap that looks very sporty and equipped with folding clasp with black PVD treatment.
